Abstract

This article reflects on bullying from a gender perspective, based on the story of the character Tetê, from the book Confessions of an Excluded, Unloved and (Somewhat) Dramatic Girl, by Thalita Rebouças. The book portrays the protagonist's suffering for not fitting into the beauty standards imposed on women, addressing how bullying reflects prejudices such as sexism and racism. The text criticizes the lack of school and family support and questions the author's message, which individualizes overcoming violence, instead of proposing a collective confrontation. The text defends the importance of critical reflection and intentional and directed action by school and family actors in confronting the different forms of violence among students.
